The Dooars area in North Bengal is severly impacted by the Human Elephant Conflict. There is loss of human lives, property, crop etc as well as elephant lives. As this issue remains unresolved Spenta Foundation has volunteered to initiate and make this an impactful movement.
Our strategy began with a comprehensive study of the region's geography and multiple needs-assessment sessions with local villagers. This fieldwork provided us with a deeper understanding of the root causes of the conflict and enabled us to identify practical, effective solutions. We also collaborated with the forest department on technical aspects to ensure our findings were scientifically validated.
As of today, we have completed several time-bound initiatives that have significantly protected human and animal lives, and property.
